SEO for roofers
For roofing firms anywhere in the UK. We work on the things that decide which roofer gets the call when someone searches: your Google profile, your website and your reviews. Then we show you the call taps and enquiries coming in.
SEO for roofers, or roofing SEO, means getting your Google profile and website in front of people searching for the roofing work you do, in the towns you cover.

WHAT PEOPLE SEARCH FOR
What people search for when they need a roofer
People don’t just type “roofer”. Many search for the job over their head. These are the average monthly searches across the whole UK, for all roofing firms combined, from Google’s Keyword Planner (October 2025 to September 2026).
A leak, a flat roof and a full replacement are very different jobs, searched for in different words. One homepage can’t speak to all of them. Each job you want more of needs its own place on your site.

WHAT IT INVOLVES
What SEO for roofers involves
Nothing clever. A short list of jobs, done right and kept up month after month.
Your Google Business Profile
A page for each type of job
Pages for the towns you cover
Reviews and photos of finished roofs
Tracking what works
DO IT YOURSELF
What you can do yourself this week
None of these cost anything but a bit of your time.
- Check your Google profile’s main category. In Google Maps, search your business name. The category sits under the name. For most roofers that’s likely “Roofing contractor”. Pick the category that matches your main work.
- Make sure your business name, address and phone number match on your profile, your website and your van. Read them side by side and fix any that differ.
- Add five photos of real roofs you’ve finished. Your own, not stock photos.
- Ask every customer from your last few jobs for a review. Send them the review link from your profile so it’s one tap for them. Let them write it in their own words. Google’s rules don’t allow you to tell them what to say.
- Open your website on your phone. Check someone can ring you with one tap from every page.
If that’s all done and the phone’s still quiet, the free forecast shows where you stand and what it would take to fix it. See your free forecast
WHERE SEO FITS
Marketing for roofers. Where SEO fits
There are three main ways a roofer gets work from Google.
-
SEO
SEO is the long term work. Your Google profile, your job pages and your reviews. It's slower to build, but it's yours to keep.
-
Google Ads
Google Ads can bring calls in sooner because you pay for each click. It works best next to SEO, turned up before the spells you want the diary full.
-
Lead sites
Lead sites can patch a gap when it's quiet. They're a plaster on the problem, not a long term fix. Even when you win one, it often turns into a race to the bottom on price.
Most trades start thinking about leads once the work has dried up. By then you’re on the back foot. Get it going while you’ve still got jobs in the book.
BUILDING TRUST
What helps a homeowner trust a roofer
A homeowner can’t climb up and check your work before they call. So give them reasons to feel safe picking you:
- A real business address on your website if you have one. If you work from home, show your service area clearly.
- Reviews from people nearby.
- Photos that are clearly your own work. Before and afters are best.
- Your trade body membership, if you have one.
Put all of it where they can see it. On your website and, where it applies, on your Google profile.
WEBSITES FOR ROOFERS
Websites and web design for roofers
A roofing website has one job. Show people you’ve done work like theirs and make it easy to ring you. That means a page for each type of job you do, your address or service area, reviews and trade body membership on show, and a tap to call button on every page.
Web design for roofers is something we offer, and we write the words for you. One of the trade sites we’ve built is for a builder and roofer in Leicestershire. Here’s what they said about us.
“Even after the site went live, he continued to support us. He recently flagged an issue we weren’t even aware of and got everything sorted before it became a problem.”

WHAT IT’S WORTH
What would more work be worth to you?
A roof repair and a full replacement are worth very different amounts. Work out what one job is worth to you first. Then decide if marketing is a cost or an investment.
The starting numbers are examples only. Move the sliders to match your business.
